Rep. Michael Lee Meredith Files for Re-Election

BOWLING GREEN, KY — Today, State Representative Michael Lee Meredith announced his re-election bid for Kentucky’s 19th House District. Meredith has held the seat since 2011 and he has been committed to representing the interests of local families in Edmonson and Warren Counties. Submitting the necessary paperwork in person at the Secretary of State’s office, Meredith and his family are gearing up for the May 21, 2024 Republican Primary Election.

Committed to conservative values, Meredith has been a tireless advocate for his community in office. Meredith focuses on issues that matter most to the residents of Edmonson and Warren County. His accomplishments include securing funding for a $30 million nursing facility for military veterans in Bowling Green. Meredith also passed measures to increase incentive pay and line-of-duty death benefits for first responders. He is a champion for local causes and has been at the forefront of initiatives to lower prescription drug costs and make healthcare more affordable.

Reflecting on his decision to seek re-election, Meredith said, “It’s my life’s great honor to serve our residents. When I go to work, I support the policies that will grow our economy, protect new life, and defend our most vulnerable groups.

To my friends and neighbors in Edmonson and Warren County, thank you for trusting me to be your conservative voice and safeguard our values,” said Meredith. “I’ve made District 19 my top priority while in the Kentucky House.”

Growing up on a beef cattle farm, Meredith has played a pivotal role in protecting cattle farmers at the state level, by advocating for increased transparency in the labeling of meat products. His dedication to local issues has earned him a Friends of Kentucky Cities Award (from the Kentucky League of Cities in 2020) and a County Advocate Award (from the Kentucky Association of Counties in 2021).

Meredith chairs the House Local Government Committee in Frankfort where he has helped remove burdensome regulations that hamper community growth. A local business owner himself, Meredith embodies a unique perspective in the House that resonates with the diverse needs of his constituents. “I’ve had good help along the way in my life,” said Meredith, “And I’m more than ready to secure new opportunities that help our residents. As I file for re-election, I am reminded of the honor and privilege it is to represent the resilient and hardworking residents of Kentucky’s 19th House District. I want to keep building a future that creates positive change for every family in Edmonson and Warren.”
